How to Use — WeTradePro Squeeze
Our original of the TTM-Squeeze concept. Educational, not advice.
What it is (one line)
A volatility-compression signal: when price coils tight (Bollinger Bands squeeze inside the Keltner Channels), energy builds for a directional expansion — and the momentum histogram tells you which way it's likely to break.
Who it's for & best timeframe
| Trader type | How you use it | Best timeframe | Recommended setting |
|---|---|---|---|
| Day trader | Catch the fire off a coiled morning range; trade the histogram direction | 5-min – 15-min | length 20 |
| Swing trader | Best fit — enter as the squeeze fires on the daily, hold the multi-day expansion | Daily | length 20, alertOnFire yes |
| Position trader | A weekly squeeze firing = the start of a months-long move; use to time adds | Weekly | length 20 |
Best overall: the daily chart for swing entries. The longer the coil (higher "bars coiled"), the bigger the expansion tends to be.
What you see (lower panel below price)
- Dots on the zero line:
- Red dots = squeeze ON (coiled — wait, don't chase).
- Green dots = squeeze OFF (fired or no squeeze — the move is allowed to run).
- Histogram bars (4 colors):
- Cyan = momentum up and accelerating (strongest bullish).
- Blue = momentum up but slowing.
- Red = momentum down and accelerating (strongest bearish).
- Yellow = momentum down but slowing.
- Labels:
SQUEEZE ON (N bars coiled)/squeeze off, andmomentum UP/DOWN.
How to trade it (the core play)
- Wait for red dots (squeeze on) — the market is coiling. Do not enter yet.
- Watch the histogram for the lean: cyan/blue = bias up, red/yellow = bias down.
- **Enter on the *first green dot* (the squeeze "fires") in the histogram's direction.**
- Stop below the coil's low (long) / above its high (short).
- Hold while the histogram keeps its color (cyan rising = let it run). Exit/trim when the
histogram flips color (cyan → blue → red) — momentum is fading. *(This pairs with the War Room Hold Plan: scale out, trail the stop, don't bail on the first green bar.)*
Settings (inputs)
length(20) — lookback for BB, KC, and momentum. Standard TTM is 20.bbDev(2.0) — Bollinger Band width.kcMult(1.5) — Keltner Channel width. (TighterkcMult= fewer, higher-quality squeezes.)alertOnFire(no) — set yes to get a sound/alert the bar the squeeze fires.
Best on
- Any liquid stock, ETF, or future. Shines on trending, high-beta names:
NVDA, AVGO, MU, TSLA, SMCI, and index ETFs (SPY/QQQ).
Common mistakes
- Entering during the squeeze (red dots) instead of waiting for the fire (first green dot).
- Fighting the histogram — don't short a cyan/blue fire.
- Bailing on the first green bar — the whole point is to *hold the expansion* (your $16K lesson).
Video script outline (for your WeTradePro tutorial)
- Hook: "This one signal tells you when a stock is about to make a big move."
- Explain the squeeze: BB inside KC = coiled spring (show it live).
- Read the dots: red = wait, green = go.
- Read the histogram colors (cyan/blue/red/yellow).
- The entry: first green dot in the histogram's direction + stop placement.
- The hold: keep it while the color holds; trim on the flip.
- "bars coiled" = bigger coil, bigger move.
- Recap + "import link in description."
